Limits

In a VPC subnet, 6 addresses are reserved and can’t be used as an instance IP. For example in the subnet 192.168.42.0/24 we reserve:
- The 1st / network address
192.168.42.0 - The 2nd address
192.168.42.1: The IP of the subnet gateway - The 3rd address
192.168.42.2: Reserved for future use - The 4th address
192.168.42.3: Reserved for future use - The 5th address
192.168.42.4: Reserved for future use - The last / broadcast address
192.168.42.255
Warning
An instance can only be part of one VPC
